2. explain the various theories of conformity and deviance
3. examine the social theorists in the development of the discipline
4. discuss the need for social labels and roles
5. explore the various causes of social problems
6. identify the differences in behavior between classes in a society’s social stratification
7. explain the need for various social institutions
8. analyze the nature vs. nurture debate
